Thermal Gap Filler Pads
Würth Elektronik WE-TGF
The Würth Elektronik WE-TGF range is a family of thermally conductive gap filler pads constructed from silicone loaded with ceramic particles, some grades are reinforced internally with a fibreglass mesh and protected with PET and PE film liners.
Supplied to us as 400 × 200 mm sheets, the material family is offered in a range of thicknesses from 0.5 mm up to 5.0 mm and in several thermal conductivity grades from 1 W/(m·K) up to 6 W/(m·K), giving designers a wide choice of pads for filling air gaps between heat-generating components and heat sinks, chassis or enclosure walls.
As a flexible, soft and conformable material (Shore C 10 – 45) with an operating temperature window from -50 °C up to +180 °C, the WE-TGF range is well suited to a broad range of electronic, power and lighting assemblies.
Adhesive Backed Materials Ltd can convert the full WE-TGF family into the shapes and quantities your production line needs, taking the standard sheets through our in-house die-cutting and CNC-knife table processes.

Typical applications
The WE-TGF range is widely specified wherever heat needs to be transferred from a component to a heat-spreading surface while electrically isolating the two parts. Common end-use applications include:
-
Power electronics, inverters and motor drives
-
LED lighting modules and luminaires
-
EV and battery management assemblies
-
DC-DC converters and on-board chargers
-
Telecoms, networking and server hardware
-
Consumer electronics, displays and set-top boxes
-
Industrial control cabinets and PLCs
-
Renewable energy power conditioning equipment

How we convert the WE-TGF range
Because the WE-TGF range is supplied to us in sheet form, we convert it using the sheet-fed processes within our factory. We work directly from your drawing or sample to produce parts that drop straight into your assembly.
Die-cutting
Die-cutting allows us to produce high volumes of consistent, repeatable parts from the WE-TGF sheet. This is our preferred route for production quantities of rectangles, washers, gaskets, pads with internal cut-outs, complex outlines and any geometry that benefits from a dedicated tool. The tooling is sized to suit the part, allowing us to nest shapes efficiently and minimise material waste from each sheet.
CNC-knife table cutting
Our CNC-knife table is ideal for prototypes, low and medium volumes, and larger or more intricate profiles that would be uneconomic to tool. The CNC route lets us work directly from your CAD file to cut bespoke pad shapes from the standard 400 × 200 mm WE-TGF sheets without the lead-time or cost of a cutting tool, making it well suited to design iterations, sample runs and short-notice production support.
Shapes we can produce
Between our die-cutting and CNC-knife table capabilities we can produce the vast majority of pad geometries that designers specify, including rectangles, circles, washers, frames, pads with multiple internal apertures and free-form outlines. Some highly complex profiles may not be achievable; we are always happy to review your drawing and confirm what is and isn't possible before you commit to a design.
